- We are in Apricena - full Gargano National Park - the first mining pole of the south, where the limestone is the element distinctive of the territory. Thanks to the close link with its land, Valentina Passalacqua has adopted since the beginning an organic agronomic approach and, following a long period of observation and study, gained knowledge deep terroir. Valentina, after several years of production, felt the need to isolate inside its own vineyards some parcels characterized by exclusively calcareous soil of the kimmeridgiano type. Thus was born Calcarius: wines of mineral terroirs, thesis and without compromises. On the farm are grown indigenous varieties that are the result of contamination cultural-historical roots in Magna Grecia: Nero di Troia, bombino, Greco, falanghina, negroamaro and aleatico first of all. The approach in the cellar wisely not interventionist does the rest. That indicated on all labels are the atomic number (20) and atomic weight (40.08) of the chemical element of calcium (Ca).
